FAQs

Q: why do you write in lower caps?  don’t you know proper english??

A: because it has become a habit, and i feel like it.  around 2004 i started to write my e-mails without capitalization.  the exceptions i make are for acronyms, like DBN (debt bloggers network), or FAQs.  every now and then i slip or get ambitious and capitalize, but that’s not often.

on the other hand, i am fairly particular about grammar and spelling mistakes.

yes, i did take english in high school and college.  maybe i’m resisting conformity/convention?

Q: are you a guy or a girl?

A: i won’t say here, but if you read my posts here, in carnivals, or posts that make reference to me at fellow pf bloggers’ sites, i’m sure you’ll figure it out.

Q: why are your stories hecka long?

A: hm.. well, i love talking and writing and talking.. i have no problems admitting i am wordy — my high school english teachers told me so too!  but that may just be my comfortable/default style.  i can’t help myself!

i also like details.

Q: did you just recently start blogging?  why are your archives rather lacking?

A: well, no, i did not just start blogging in general.  i have been writing blogging/journaling style since before it became all the rage at another of my past websites, as i have been involved with web development since the late nineties, and have been writing since 11.

on the other hand, i did recently start up this FWP site specifically targeted to the topic of personal finance.

Q: are you professionally involved in personal finance, or perhaps in the medical/social profession?  are your posts professional advice?

A: absolutely not!  i am just a not-quite-average US citizen who actually web programs for a living, and attempting to earn income from crocheting and possibly freelancing in web development.

i never took a psychology class or classes beyond some economics.  i just have read lots of books, and introspect/reflect a whole lot.  too much, some say.  i’m still learning.

Q: why are you anonymous?  what’s the big deal?

A: hm.. well, i explain it in the about page towards the end.  additionally, it’s come to be sort of fun!  i feel like a ninja, of sorts.

Q: i submitted an article to a carnival you hosted.  why didn’t you accept it?  are you a big meanie, or perhaps an elitist?

A: no, absolutely not!  well, i don’t think i’m a big meanie..

first, if there are/were rules with respect to submissions for a particular carnival, i pretty much stick to them.  occasionally i’ll find really cool articles that i’m dying to include, but which did not follow the requirements.  i know it’s not fair to make exceptions, so i don’t.

at times, the articles just don’t make sense to be in the carnival in question, are too short, or are spam-ish, from my humble point of view, of course.

Q: why does the FWP blog site appear to change themes every month or so?

A: because FWP sometimes undergoes an identity crisis.  actually, i have been experimenting with the ‘perfect’ look/design for this site.  as a result, the theme may change every now and then.  please bear with me during this quest.
