i am excited to announce the new Debt Bloggers Network! i have founded this group, along with 3 other debt reduction bloggers:
- Debt Reduction Formula
- Financial Wellness Project
- How I Save Money
- On A Quest to be Debt Free
our mission is to support and promote one another while also actively involved in the world of pf blogging. from our site:
we are the Debt Bloggers Network, a group of personal finance bloggers who were inspired by our own debts and financial struggles to share our stories and lessons with you. we are involved with the personal finance blogging community, each of us participating in one or more carnivals and festivals, forums, and more !
i encourage you to visit our website, to find our blogs’ feeds in one place.
not long ago, i noticed various smaller pf blogging networks. the first one was the MBN network with big name bloggers such as Get Rich Slowly and No Credit Needed. then i saw other networks, such as the money writers, the frugal blog network, the pf bloggers, money life network, and the m-network. i was intrigued and a bit envious. how do i get into one of those? the comraderie and support must be quite nice and fun!
unfortunately for me, it turned out that the few groups i inquired into preferred to remain their current size at the moment, and were not looking for new members. “try to put together one of your own”, one blogger advised in her e-mail reply. in this way, she added, i could organize a group based on qualities i was looking for.
so i did. and here we are.
we too are not currently accepting or recruiting new members. i feel a bit bad seemingly exclusive and all, but there are reasons for this that i will explain:
- if a network gets too big, i feel as though the ‘personal’ feel to the group changes too much or disappears
- with a smaller network, there is more exposure for the few blogs at the network’s main site
- there is less maintenance and managing while small
- there is more of a specific grouping of blogs (in our case, blogging motivated by debt and sharing our own stories)
this may change in the future, after DBN has been around for a bit. in the meantime, i encourage you if interested, to put together your own network! here is a useful article i happened to come across before i started up DBN — blogthority’s How to Start Your Own Network.
also, there are several other networks that are very open to membership at the moment. i belong to all of these — i encourage you to join as well:
- liberta financial freedom network
- ncn network
- money hackers network
- frugal hacks network
- wpersonalfinance — women only
stay tuned to DBN’s upcoming group projects!
